The U3 software is prevalent on a wide variety of USB memory devices (thumb drives). We have found that our users seldom use the functionality of this software and are often unaware of its existence until their User Profile fills up, causing disruptions to their work until things are cleaned up.
We have disabled the U3 software from running on MCECS Supported systems.
If you do use the functionality of the U3 software that comes with your USB device, please let us know and we can re-enable the features for you.
Under Windows 7, certain U3 versions may not work properly. It may be necessary for you to set the Compatibility Mode of LaunchU3.exe to "Vista (Service Pack 2)" (right click LaunchU3.exe, select Property and select Compatibility to change the mode).
