Keeping your password secret is your assurance that your account and its contents remain secure. In Windows XP/Vista and Windows 7 passwords are case sensitive, must be at least eight (8) characters long, and should contain lowercase and uppercase letters, digits, and symbols. A password cannot contain control characters, [ALT]-modified keys, or function keys. Good passwords contain characters other than letters and numbers, such as punctuation. Anything that could be directly or indirectly associated with the user (such as name, date of birth, etc.) should not be included in the password.

To change your Windows password:

Go to the online password changing page.
