How to connect to/mount your MCECS Unix home directory on Mac OS 10.6.
If you are connected to a fixed on site wall jack, move on to the next step. If you are on wifi, connected via a laptop jack, or offsite, first connect to the CECS VPN (for help with this: http://cat.pdx.edu/mac/maseeh-college-vpn-from-mac-os-x-10.5.html).
In Finder, click Go → Connect To Server... (Or hit Command + K)
Enter “smb://unix.cecs.pdx.edu/solu” as the Server Address.
Click Connect. The connection will request a user name and password.
Make sure “Registered User” is selected. Enter your CECS user name and password and click Connect.
Your unix home directory should now be mounted and accessible through Finder.
If you have any trouble, send an email to support@catNOSPAM.pdx.edu
